Ashley Hutchings (natural January 26 1945) is a folk musician.

Hutchings was natural inside Southgate, London but moved to Muswell Hill while still the tyke. He formed many groups, including "Dr K's Blues Band" inside 1964. Whilst he met guitar player Simon Nicol, it rehearsed on the floor above Nicol's father's medical practice. A home was known as "Fairport" & lent its title to the class action it formed together.

Hutchings has quite even founded more groups than any other bass-player. A best known come Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span (formed after he left Fairport inside 1970) & a ever-changing Albion Country Band (formed after allowing Steeleye inside 1971). He hwhen mass produced many thematic albums sustaining session musicians deepened from either through a traditional & folk-rock spectrum, by having himself credited as a producer. A series of albums known as ''The Guv'nor collect rare recordings from several Hutchings-related groups. Around 2004 Hutchings retired the Albion b& and within 2005 he returned when a portion of a quartet, known as Rainbow Chasers.

Burning Bright (2005) occurs as boxed placed of foursome Videos, by using numerous uncommon & antecedently unreleased recordings.
